The Canadian Team website is at http://strathconacup100.ca

After 15 years I even remember some of the names!

Hi Sandy,

Good of you to point out the Centenary website for the Canadians. I was a member of the 1998 tour, went North, and had the experience of a lifetime. I recall the internet was well in its infancy then and it was your posts on a newsgroup that kept the folks at home up to date. I had the privilege of being courier for part of the tour in 2003 when the Scots came to Canada, and my battle cry was "the bus leaves in 5 minutes".

These tours are wonderful experiences and I hope many of the Scots reading this will aspire to go on tour. We always have a great reunion at every World's, and Brier. Hope to see many of my friends in Moncton for the Men's Worlds, or Halifax for the 2010 Brier.

Thanks for the mention - it was good fun doing it.  I'm off to Drimsynie tomorrow to try to Curl and hope to make sure that the deal which Willie and I have been offered is real!  We might need to get a lift back to Largs on the Canadians bus though Grin

Had an email from a Canadian friend this morning who is in the Strathcona Cup team.  Looking forward to meeting him and some of the other guys we Curled against in Canada in '93.

Anyone else playing for or against the Canadians please post comments, funnies or nightmares on here - last Tour to Canada one tourist lost his jacket which normally isn't a major problem but it was this time - it had his wallet and passport in it!

Also looking forward to attending the Court where they will be made Curlers - if they survive the experience Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

I have now had the pleasure of meeting and being beaten by the Canadian Curlers!

One of the matters which they are very interested in is how do the elite teams get selected - they just don't believe it should be the way it is being done and that teams should evolve - same opinion as most of the posters on this forum.
