LG - I can agree with you there.

October - busy time for us fermers - so you can count us out ! Angry

Aye, busy time for all families with school age children too as the first weekend at Lockerbie falls slap bang in the middle of the tattie holidays, not that my kids get the opportunity to lift tatties nowadays, but many, many families escape the gloom and doom of Uk and get some sun at this time of year.

This is actually a complete and utter nonsense, many of our farmer superleague rinks re-schedule September games because their still harvesting, who wants to play a national competition as your first few games of the season, when you have not even got your eye in ?

The unelected Cabal that makes these decisions within the RCCC need to actually speak to the teams and sound out what might suit - never, never before has the Scottish kicked off as the first competition of the season.

Utter madness. If it is the objective of the loonies who are controlling this to reduce the number of teams entering to make life easier for the chosen ones then they are certainly achieving that objective.

We were contemplating putting an entry in but so far we have two planned holiday clashes out of two so probably won't bother.

This is absolutely scandalous.

And as a foot-note re the new elite teams being formed I assume the three player rule for seeded entry to round 2 will be rigorously applied ? I guess no more so than a certain G Broon's golden fiscal rules/balls !!

That's certainly what the Competitions Calendar on the RCCC website now shows.

Just wondering if somebody could clarify the entry fee - it says on the entry

Entry Fee
"A non-returnable deposit of £150. Plus additional ice charges for the pre –
qualifiers as required this will be in the region of another £100."

and

"An additional cost per team will be due on 20 September 2010
Teams that receive a bye to the Qualifying Playdowns £230
Pre-Qualifiers to Qualifiers £380"

Does this mean that it will cost teams that play in the pre-qualifiers £630 (£150 deposit + Additional charge £100 + pre qual to qual £380)
whilst those that have qualified from last year  are £380 (£150 deposit + £230)

Is this correct ? Have i got it wrong? Or is it just spelled out in a cack handed manner?

Expensive business either way.

plus travel, hotels, meals & drink (last one being optional but if ur loosing games will increase!!)  so could cost over £1000 per team.

Should be £380 for every team regardless of where you play

Having read it again - i tend to agree with you.

You would not expect anything from the RCCC to be clear and concise though !

Agree it's somewhat hazy but my interpretation is that if you are having to pre-qualify the £150 deposit is applied against total pre-qualifying ice fees of c£250, being £150 deposit plus an additional c£100, making the pre-qualifier fees up toi the c£250 level, which if it's as much as say 9 games over two weekends at say £8/head = £32 per team would be £276 so that would seem to make sense. At least I hope I'm right !!???!!

The entry form has been updated today. Not really sure what changes have happened though.

Regarding the date change - If any other players or teams have prior engagements planned for w/e 20th Jan, will exception be made for them too? Hopefully!

see bobs blog today http://skipcottagecurling.blogspot.com/

Colin and the committee continue to make it up as they go along

One rule for some and another for the plebs

complete and utter shambles

Open and fair competition ...........not a chance

maybe competitors should be thinking of a boycott........
