(From RCCC AGM thread -- JM)

I thought that some mention/announcement of the next Secretary General of the WCF might have been made - the WCF President was present.

I asked her, Sandy. Apparently the shortlist has been decided, and there will be interviews in a week or so. As Outwick indicates there are indeed lots of rumours, but we should probably wait and see.

It's been a long week!  Rumour and speculation are wonderful/dangerous things!  If CG our CEO is appointed anybody like to speculate about the next CEO?

Colin G would be well suited to the job, I think, and it would be a natural progression. I'll bet he'd be pleased to get out of all the NCA stuff!

Well good luck to our CEO - I wonder if he would relocate if (as the other rumour abounds) WCF HQ will
go to Switzerland?
As for a replacement....there are a few who would be admirably suited through their connections & involvement in the sport. However somebody who understands curling also....how about Mark Callan just to start the discussion going?

Nothing against Mark, but you make it sound like "jobs for the boys"! We will need some clear thinkers here, not more of the same....

List was to drawn up last week for consideration and interviews.
Remembers its an international post so think world wide. Keith Weindorf's name has been mentioned amongst others. And that is International experience.
Time will tell. This is a job for someone with knowledge of the World scene and especially the Olympics with all the politics that are involved.

Mike was very canny at keeping a profile that took everything in but was there to advise and or correct the World Exec on policy if required. It needs a wise head with world experience.

I'll be sorry to see him go.  Colin is a very courteous and helpful guy and although he didn't post here he was always very aware of what we were saying.  I would also like to wish him well in his new position.

Yes I'd echo those comments - quite a hard act to follow - both for him going to WCF
& for his successor at Cairnie House.
Now the rumourmill starts as to who our new CEO might be...
anybody know Ladbroke's phone number or should we start our own sweep?

I suppose I should let Theresa know - she might want to apply and she does know the system.
