I, along with other club members have tried to get new members in past and people usually say 'oh yes yes, that looks interesting!' etc etc, but then they never do anything about it.
I've never come across any potential wheelchair players though.
As as far as the Winter Olympic thing goes, yes, it's a great idea, but, is it just me, or would it have been better if the games had been late on in '09?? I mean, by the time they happen, it will almost be the end of the season!!
Of course, I doubt that the planners were thinking about that when they arranged the dates!!
As an aside
When I started, the club put an advert in the local paper, and I was the only person who responded. ONE!
Even at that I have to put my hands up and say that I never responded immediately, I had clocked the details in the advert and I took a few weeks to do something, but I did, nonetheless, turn up at Braehead one day and asked to speak to anyone from Dumbarton or at least get details. Luckily people were there and the rest is history. I imagine I must have been a bit of a surprise for them, suddenly appearing out of the blue without any warning like that, but there you go, at least I did it, plenty of others never do.
Before I knew it, I was substituting for what seemed almost every week!!
